So I'm sitting in my room minding my own business listening to My Pussycat Dolls CD. Once again my roomate drowning me out while on her cellphone, yes its annyonying but what are you going to do. Anyway, her conversation piece was that of her becoming a housewife. Why you ask? I kid you not, because she said "I dont want to work at all. I'll stay home and have a man take care of me." Call me a partial (because I'm not totally) a feminist, especially with dumb ass comments like this. And oh no, she's not joking. Not one bit. I'm sorry but what the hell of getting a 5 year engineering education when you only plan on being the housewife of some guy. You're parents are helping you pay for this education and this is how you plan on thanking them. Chances are that guy is going to make you sign a pre-nup so when you later find out he's banging his secretary, not saying this is what happens to all housewifes, he can drop your ass leaving you with nothing. And who's going to want to hire someone who hasn't used the potential of their degree in years? It doesn't help that she doesnt want kids either. This is really pisses me off. I can see if you want to stay home and take care of your kids, but you're just being plain fucking lazy if you don't plan on doing anything. Anyone can clean a house sweety. You can clean a house even if you are working. And you plan on spending this guys money while you sit you lazy ass at home. Hah, yeah right!
Are you freaking kidding?!? I'm going to school for a reason. To use MY DEGREE that my parents and myself are shelling out money for. If my parents heard me say such a thing they would not only not co-sign for my loans (they made me take out loans so if I decided to pull some shit like that I would have to pay because ultimately its my education in my hands), they would damn near kick me out of the house and make damn sure I don't go back to school. I can see if you want to become a housewife to raise your kids and what not but who honestly sets out to stay at home. No offense, but I don't want my husband to take care of me and I don't want to take care of him. I want us to take care of each other equally. Being an only child, I know you're thinking yeah right. How can you possibly take care of yourself. My dad thats how! He is making sure I learn the lessons I need without the help of some random dude. Oh no, Daddy doesn't play that bullshit. "Oh my God, I can't do anything without a man!" Grow the fuck up and get a life. He always tells me to get my education so the only person I need to rely on is myself. And for the record, no I don't plan on becoming a housewife...
It really pisses me off to hear women say such things as my roomate did. For someone so intelligent, she sure should listen to some of the things she says. Watch out guys...there's a new class of gold diggers coming up. Get your prenups in order...
